Earlier this year, homeowners of Patrick Place participated in two online surveys. Below are the results from those surveys plus all comments/suggestions that were received. Thanks to all the homeowners who participated. Your feedback is considered carefully in planning and decision-making for Patrick Place. 1. Sports Survey Homeowners were asked to rank from 1 to 10 how much interest they had in adding various sports activities to our park and were invited to leave comments and suggestions. Summary: There was fairly low interest in team sports like softball and soccer. Some residents expressed concern these sports might draw non-residents into the park and/or require too much maintenance. Most popular choices were inexpensive activities like horseshoes, volleyball, bean bag toss, and badminton. Among the many additional suggestions that homeowners wrote-in, the clear cut favorites were neighborhood picnics and similar social gatherings. Comments - What other sports facilities would you like to see in the Park?
a swingset/jungle gym for kids under 10 They're neat ideas but I don't like the idea of anything that will require storage of equipment or on-going maintenance; too much risk for items getting lost/stolen and falling into disrepair. A Playground would be nice for the kids. A swiming pool! will increase the value of patrick place a lot! would only add to issues in the park. It is a flood zone. Clay Shooting Station Maintain walking trails and basketball goals. Individual families can set up their own recreational activities and remove them when not in use. Not in support of areas which will influence people to come in our community from outside the neighborhood. Certainly no softball /soccer fields w/lights, etc. Likely a small portion of homeowner families who would use this. Wouldn't want to see any organized athletics coming in our neighborhood. Disc Golf Volleyball and Horseshoes. mini golf Fitness stations Comments - What types of events would you attend if they were held in the Park? annual neighborhood picnic A neighborhood picnic, neighborhood parties on Friday nights in the summer - outdoor movie night. Events geared more towards children and families. bonfires, clean ups, evening happy hours community picnics/pot lucks egg hunting, cook outs… Fires/Get Togethers One of the Friday social gatherings would be nice at the pavilion. Neighborhood Socials almost any.... Fireworks on holidays could be limited to being done in the park area. Great place for birthday parties w/inflatables etc. Barbeques, Family Fun Day, Fall Festivals Blank Music in the park. Happy Hour in the park. music, picnic Small concerts or bands Softball games 2. Boat and Trailer Storage Survey Homeowners were asked “Are you in favor of adding boat & trailer storage as a new amenity for Patrick Place?”. Summary: Response was low to this survey possibly because no specific plan or budget was presented. Homeowners were split: 45.15% chose a positive response of yes or maybe; 50% said no; and 3.85% said it didn’t matter to them.
